SAP MDG Consultant
About the Role
SPV Consulting is hiring a SAP MDG Consultant to join our team, working on master data governance implementations for clients across a range of industries. Master data is the thing every other SAP process quietly depends on, get the governance wrong and you’re chasing duplicate vendors and inconsistent material records for years afterward.
We need someone who has actually configured MDG in a live environment, not just read about governance frameworks in theory. You’ll be building the workflows and validation logic that keep data clean at the source, while also translating what a client’s business teams actually need into something a governance model can enforce.
What You'll Do
- Configure and implement SAP Master Data Governance across the data domains that matter for each client — material, customer, vendor, finance, whatever the engagement calls for
- Design governance workflows, data models, validation rules, and derivation logic from the ground up
- Set data quality standards and duplicate check configurations so governed master data actually stays consistent over time
- Connect SAP MDG into the broader SAP landscape, working across MM, SD, and FI/CO as well as whatever downstream systems depend on that data
- Run workshops with client stakeholders and turn what they describe as business problems into functional specs your team can build against
- Support the testing cycle — unit, integration, and user acceptance as governance configuration comes together
- Put together the documentation people will actually use later: process flows, configuration guides, functional specs
- Stay engaged through hypercare, resolving governance and data quality issues as they come up post-go-live
- Give project leads and clients a clear, current picture of status, risk, and blockers
- Work with SAP Data Migration and Syniti ADM consultants where governance and migration work overlap on the same project
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience implementing and supporting SAP MDG in real client environments
- A solid grasp of master data domains and governance processes, with depth in at least one core object — material, customer, vendor, or finance
- Experience configuring MDG workflows, business rules, and data models directly
- Experience integrating SAP MDG with other SAP modules
- Professional working proficiency in English
Bonus Points
- You’ve worked with SAP MDG specifically on S/4HANA
- You have exposure to Fiori-based MDG
- You hold an SAP certification in MDG or a related data management area
- You understand how data migration or Syniti ADM tools interface with MDG-governed data
